When spring hits, male bush turkeys become full-time mound managers. Build the pile, check the temp, guard the eggs, repeat. The girls lay and leave. Iconic.
See a baby bush turkey? Don’t call mumma, this little legend already moved out. They hatch ready for the world, fluff on point, confidence unreasonable, and absolutely no adult supervision requested. 💚🐾

New rules for Coolum beaches and the pooches 🐕 🐕‍🦺💚🐾

The dog laws have recently changed throughout the Sunshine Coast Council area.

Here is how it affects Coolum Beach:

🐶 Dogs off leash at all times:
Stumers Creek, from entrance 72 near Coolum Caravan Park to 1km north of Stumers Creek

🦮 Dogs on leash at all times:
Carpark of Stumers Creek to beach access 69
South of beach access 72 to 81
Between Pt Arkwright & Pt Perry
Mt Coolum North (On Leash)

🚫 Dogs prohibited at all times:
Beach access 81 to 82 (Point Perry rocky headland)
Point Arkwright - rocky headland

I saw plover babies today 🥰 a tiny fluffball on long legs, already out in the world.As soon as they’re born, they are ready, eyes open and off they go! They leave the nest and begin their little adventure. No cosy home to keep returning to, just open ground, watchful parents, and a very big world ahead.When they’re scared, they freeze completely — so still you could almost miss them.It reminded me to slow down, look more closely, and notice the tiny brave things happening all around us. 💚🐾
