Meet Buster 🐾

Recently, Buster started growing what could only be described as his second Tasmanian head!

The lump on his side, along with another near his nose, grew rapidly over the past few months and began making daily life more difficult for this sweet senior gentleman.

Our team worked with Buster’s family to access support through the PetSafetyNet program, helping to fund the removal of these tumours and improve Buster’s comfort and quality of life.

PetSafetyNet is a collaborative initiative co-designed by PetSure, VetChat and VetPartners to help improve access to veterinary care for eligible pet owners experiencing financial hardship.

Kira needed $2,693 worth of dental surgery. Her carers Madaline and Josh said they'd have to just move on.

Their vet at New Lambton Veterinary Clinic knew about PetSafetyNet. She took a moment to explain it. Madaline and Josh checked their eligibility on the spot.

They were approved almost instantly.

Within two weeks, Kira’s surgery was complete. The entire cost of the procedure and in-clinic treatment was fully subsidised by PetSafetyNet, leaving Madaline and Josh with nothing to pay.

"We were over the moon. We just never thought something like that would be possible."

“I can 100 percent recommend the service,” Madeline said. “It’s such a relief to know my baby isn’t in pain anymore.”

For too many Australian pets and pet carers, access to veterinary care isn’t guaranteed, with barriers to access spanning financial hardship, geography, mobility, clinic availability or uncertainty about where to turn. For many, it’s a combination of these challenges.

PetSafetyNet helps eligible pet carers overcome barriers to accessing veterinary care through support including 24/7 veterinary telehealth via VetChat and subsidised urgent or essential in-clinic treatment when needed.

This milestone is part of a broader impact: across participating locations in New South Wales, Victoria, and Tasmania, PetSafetyNet has now helped more than 1,500 pets get the care they needed.
