Isn’t she just perfect ♥️
The absolute picture of perfection ♥️

But sadly today, she got herself into a very sad situation…

With a desperate call from Judy, I was on my way.
She noticed Mumma Roo was hanging around late this morning.
Mum was, Coming, Going, Looking up at the house.
Coming. Going. Looking.
Coming. Going. Looking.
Coming. Going. Looking.

Judy watched this behaviour for a little bit and said to her Gardner, what is going on with that roo!
She’s acting very odd…
Judy has roos on her property everyday, but she knew that something was off…

So she walked over the the edge of the garden, where the infinity pool finishes and looked down…
In the overflow channel, was this little sweetheart!

No idea, how she got in there but thankfully her head was above water and she could touch the bottom, but she couldn’t get out!

Judy met me at the car and walked me over, this little bubba was crying to get out.
So I used the fence to get myself down, not smart considering how broken I am currently.
Oh AND I Have a new injury…
”sacral fracture near the sacrococcygeal”
Fell on either a rock or a lump of wood on a rescue the other day, straight on my coccyx !
Plus the MCL injury (knee from 4 weeks ago) 🤦🏼‍♀️ so not a picture of fitness at the moment!

Anyway…grabbed this little darling from the channel.
She snuggled up to me instantly!

My heart and mind were in different places…

She was in water… had she inhaled water and was running the risk of pneumonia.
But Mum had been so attentive!

I tried for a reunite…
Bub called out… Mum didn’t come.
Bub called out again… Mum still didn’t come.
I put Bub down and she was so weak from trying to get out but she kept coming back to me. She wouldn’t leave my side.
Mum watched on but still never reacted to her calls.
It was heartbreaking.
Mum then took off with the mob.

I popped my shivering little girl in a pouch and wet straight to the amazing staff at Yarrambat Vet where Dr Andrew checked her over to make sure there was no cracking etc in her chest ♥️
She was given the all clear ♥️

Judy is going to let me know when the mob come back… All is hopefully not lost yet on a reunite…
I’m keeping everything crossed for this little picture of perfection ♥️

Proof that it takes less than a heartbeat to capture the wonder of nature ✨

This stunning shot of a platypus – mid-meal, fish and all 🐟 – marks the official wrap of the 2025 Platy Project.

And what a project it’s been.

This year, ACF Community groups held eight events across Victoria, Tasmania, NSW and Queensland, bringing people together to look for one of Australia’s most elusive species.

So what’s next?

2026 will be the fifth and final year of the Platy Project.

We’ll be diving into all the incredible data gathered by dedicated citizen scientists to determine whether we now have enough evidence to prove the platypus is nationally threatened 📊📝

Thank you to everyone who took part – and to Ann Killeen for this extraordinary image 📸💚

Twenty bandicoots have been introduced to the Mallee Cliffs National Park in south-west New South Wales.

They are the ninth endangered species brought into the sanctuary by the Australian Wildlife Conservancy and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.

It's hoped the bandicoots will thrive ahead of the introduction of a tenth and final species to the park.
