Koro UPDATE 🐩❤️

Koro received some encouraging news at his follow up appointment last Thursday, his incision has healed well , his stitches have been removed and he is adapting so well to life on three legs being almost 3 weeks post surgery.
He is so happy, comfortable , walking longer, today was 20 minutes with his tail wagging , looking up at me smiling ❤️
The pathology results confirmed yesterday an undifferentiated soft tissue sarcoma, Thankfully the amputation removed the primary tumour and chemotherapy isn’t recommended at this stage. Koro will have chest X-rays every three months so we can continue monitoring him closely and both start our physio therapy together ❤️❤️
For now we’re focusing on his recovery, staying positive, enjoying every precious day we have together and i feel incredibly grateful for every moment i now have with my Beautiful Boy pain free .
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who has supported us with your love, messages, donations and encouragement, we truly couldn’t have got through this without you xx

❤️Koro Update❤️

Koro has been absolutely amazing since his amputation surgery on 13 August,
Just as I knew he would he was up & walking the very next day at SASH Animal Hospital.
He is such a strong and determined boy and watching him face this with so much courage has been incredible.
The first few days and nights at home were quite difficult as we worked together to manage his pain and help be comfortable & he adjusting to wearing his cone.
Last Wednesday we finally had a breakthrough and we both slept like babies and koro without his cone.
I’ve been sleeping downstairs with him for the past six weeks, so that night felt like such a gift.
We’re now managing four six-minute walks each day as recommended.
I’ve also been driving him to the park so he can enjoy some sunshine, play with his ball and walk on the soft grass and watch him play like him old self .
On Sunday he even had a little run which brought me so me to tears , he was so Happy .

After his afternoon’s walk’s I cook him his dinner , give him his medication and then he settles down to sleep for the night.

We’re finally finding our little routine and it feels so good.
I also bought a ramp for the four steps at the back of the house because I had been taking him out the front to toilet for the past month But Koro surprised me yet again he walked straight up and down the steps without hesitation It is truly amazing to watch his determination and strength.

I’m making progress also , I can finally walk for longer than 10 minutes and am now managing around 40 minutes however it’s definitely not the same on my own .
I also started back at the gym today for the first time with my PT since April and that felt amazing also.

After everything we’ve been through having My Koro painfree and happy has lifted such an enormous weight off my shoulders & my Heart.
We’re hoping to have his stitches removed at the end of this week they are healing nicely or sometime next week and we’re also waiting for his results to come back.

Whatever the results may be Koro is happy, pain free and that is what matters the most right now for Both of us.
We are both making progress together, embracing every day we have together, holding each other a little tighter and of course spoiling him just that little bit extra not that he was ever lacking love or attention And Every day with him is a blessing.
Thank you once again to everyone who donated and helped Koro through his surgeries, I will be forever grateful for your kindness, love and support. You helped give Koro the chance to be pain-free and enjoy his life and I can never thank you enough ###

I would like to share a huge heartfelt thank you to every person who donated to Koro’s GoFundMe page, privately transferred money, sent gifts or reached out with loving messages. Every act of kindness has touched my heart more deeply than I can put into words xx

The GoFundMe page was set up by my Beautiful Best friend Yvette because she knows I’m not someone who finds it easy to ask for help.
Yvette and Felix I am forever grateful for the financial support, love and care you have shown me I love you both dearly xx
To my family and friends who have checked in daily, sent messages, offered encouragement and stood beside me while I’ve been recovering from my fractured pelvis & having eight weeks away from work, thank you from the bottom of my heart ♥️
I am still recovering and this injury will take quite some time to heal.
Just as I was slowly able to walk again Koro suddenly developed a limp in his right leg. I took him straight to the vet for pain relief thinking he would be okay. After a week an X-ray revealed a cancerous lump which was removed and tested .
Koro continued to hold his leg up and would not put any weight on it. This led to many vet visits, more X-rays, physiotherapy appointments and even being fitted for knee brace which I sadly couldn’t get him to wear in the end .

The GoFundMe initially helped pay for Koro’s first surgery, which was expected to be for a cruciate injury. Sadly it turned out to be much more serious. A Mass had grown throughout his knee and we later learned they were cancerous.
When we received the devastating news last Wednesday that Koro had sarcoma an aggressive form of cancer we were able to book him into SASH Animal Hospital the very next day for the only treatment available to give him the best chance of being comfortable: amputation.
After a month of doing everything I could and watching Koro walk on three legs, I felt relieved that we finally had answers. I knew he would adapt in my heart and most of all I just wanted him to be pain-free.
We are still waiting for the results from the tests on his leg which will tell us exactly what type of cancer he has and how much time we may have together ❤️‍🩹🐩
The GoFundMe page also helped raise part of the cost of Koro’s amputation surgery 🙏
I am incredibly grateful to Donna for lending me the remaining amount and helping make his surgery possible. I will never forget your kindness.
The past three months have been incredibly difficult for both Koro and myself but the support we have received has helped us through both of his procedures and some of the hardest days we have faced together.
I honestly cannot put into words how thankful I am for every donation, gift, message, phone call, prayer, and kind thoughts 🙏
Your love and support have warmed my heart and brought me to tears many times as Koro is my everything and knowing that so many people care about him means more to me than you will ever know.
We will continue our recovery and rehabilitation together now , We will hold each other a little tighter, take each day as it comes and come through this stronger together.
Koro sends every one of you a very special Koro kiss and cuddle. Thank you for loving and supporting my Beautiful special Man Koro 🖤🐩❤️‍🩹

🖤 🐩🖤
Koro Update

I have rewritten this so many times because I honestly don't know how to find the words.
Those of you who know me, know that Koro isn't just my dog.
He is my heart He is my life.
He has been beside me through so many years of my life and career. He has travelled with me, stood beside me in the grooming ring, shared countless special moments and somehow became a much-loved part of our grooming family along the way.
So many of you know him.
You've watched him grow, you've admired him, groomed him, photographed him, cheered him on and loved him.
To many of you he's Koro.
To me he's my beautiful boy. 🖤
The Love of my life.
When I first reached out for help I was absolutely terrified about what would lay ahead.
And then something happened that I will never ever forget.

My Beautiful Best friend Yvette posted and started the Go fund me page for Koro and I’m forever thankful And to
Our incredible grooming community and friends that rallied around Koro and raised an extraordinary $7,495 ❤️❤️
I don't think I will ever be able to adequately express what that meant to me And
That money has already helped us get Koro through the medical testing and investigations he desperately needed and we went into this believing that the next step would be surgery to repair his cruciate ligament.
I thought we had a plan.
I thought I knew what we were facing.
But sometimes life changes direction when you least expect it.
💔 The MRI changed everything.
What we discovered was not the diagnosis we had prayed for.
The damage and condition of Koro's leg means that repairing the cruciate is no longer the answer. After discussions with the veterinary specialists the heartbreaking recommendation is that Koro's leg needs to be amputated.
I can't tell you how devastating that sentence was to hear.
I've cried.
I've questioned everything.
I've worried about whether I am making the right decision for my boy.
But underneath all of that is one simple wish:
I want Koro to be pain-free.
If losing his leg means that he can wake up without that pain… if it means he can walk again, enjoy his food, have cuddles, boss me around, and simply enjoy being Koro…
Then I will do whatever I have to do for him.
🐩🖤He deserves that chance.
And now I'm asking for your help again.
Koro needs his amputation surgery as soon as possible, and the veterinary costs have become more than I can possibly manage on my own.
I know I have already asked so much of you.
I know that $7,495 is an incredible amount of money, and I am overwhelmed with gratitude for every person who contributed to getting us this far.
Please know this:
Your money has not been wasted.
It has allowed us to investigate properly.
It has given Koro the medical care he needed.
It has given us answers.
And it has brought us to the point where we now know what we need to do to give him the best possible chance of a comfortable, pain-free future.
But we need to take that next step.
So, with a heart that is both broken and hopeful, I'm asking you to help me one more time.
If you can donate, no matter how small, I will be forever grateful.

$5
$10
$20 ❤️Whatever you can manage.
And if you can't donate, please don't feel that you have nothing to give.
Please share Koro's story.
Send it to someone who might be able to help.
Keep him in your thoughts.
Send him a little love.
Every share could reach the person who helps us get him through this.
I never imagined I would have to ask my community for this kind of help.
But Koro has spent so much of his life giving joy to people.
Now I'm asking you to give something back to him.
He has been my constant.
My companion.
My beautiful boy.
And after everything he has given me, I am not ready to give up on him.
I want to bring my boy home.
I want to see him lying in his favourite spot, enjoying the sunshine.
I want to see that cheeky face again.
I want to watch him discover that three legs are more than enough to keep up with me.
Most of all…
I want to see Koro pain-free. 🙏🏻🖤🐩
Thank you
For every message.
Every share.
Every prayer, thought and kind words.
And for loving a very special Standard Poodle who has touched so many lives in our grooming world.
You have already helped carry us this far.
Please help me carry him the rest of the way.
With all my love and gratitude,
Prue & Koro 🐾🖤🐩

💫I finally got to unpack and use the The Jirpet Neck Dryer over the weekend.
I’m loving how lightweight it is, how ergonomic it feels and the adjustable neck strap for a comfortable fit. The multiple heat and airflow settings are a standout for me too especially for my older dogs who just can’t tolerate the force dryer anymore.
Now I combine the Jirpet dryer and can use both hands and control the airflow.
I dry them to about 80% then brush and then use the dryer again then finish with the combing.
I have found it keeps the older dogs much calmer, less stressed and way more comfortable.

It’s also designed to reduce strain on your neck and shoulders during those longer grooming sessions so I’m excited to incorporate it with my grooming from now on 👌

Thank you Jirpet this is definitely going to be a game changer in my studio and for my students at Styled with Prue.
