How is Ariel? Pretty good!
I came into the cat room one day to find both mamas crouched and sniffing at a mysterious puddle on the floor like it was a murder victim. It was wee.
The next day, I saw Ariel do a (second?) wee on the floor. This is good, developmentally: his urethra is working independently. A big step!
And so the messiest, poopiest phase of kitten rearing begins: toilet training.
Here's a very shallow litter tray (on an incontinence pad) for the kittens to explore.
And look at Ariel's legs! They're bearing his weight, at least for a moment!
He also had a pretty good poo (with assistance and some discomfort) last night. A LOT better than full-blown diarrhoea though. Or the mysterious lack of poo that is the norm, since the mamas still do some of his toileting (which is good, but leaves me with incomplete data).
