Updates from Ying & Yang's forever home! 🥹 2 weeks in and they are still being their quirky selves and making amazing progress in their bravery.

These kinds of updates are so amazing for us to receive, but even more important for us as a rescue to share. They highlight the big differences for each cat in settling into their new homes, and how the timeline is never as expected or the same for any two cats. It's important to understand that when you adopt a new cat, especially an adult who may have had a home before, that it really is all about patience and going with the flow. ♥️

2nd August, adoption day: the girls spend their first night wondering who this crazy lady is, and why did she kidnap us?

6th of August: "Good morning! The girls have made themselves at home under the spare bed but we have noticed (and heard hahaha) that they are exploring the house in the night time which I think is a good sign they’re learning the house while still getting used to us. My biggest concern is they aren’t eating much at all, some kibble but they refuse the wet food.... We are at the point now that I can lay down next to the bed and talk to them and they’ll stare at me instead of running away which I see as progress hahaha"

"We were in bed 2 nights ago and it was really dark and both of them stood at the door and stared for a solid 5 minutes then walked away 😂 poor things in their exploring last night knocked over a drink bottle and they both freaked out and bolted back under the spare bed it was so funny!"

"I know I dared to take a photo of THEM under THEIR bed I’m just the worst 😂 I’m so glad they feel comfortable enough to explore at night it was actually pretty funny on the first night I had the door to the spare room closed and they were trying to open it!"

15th August: "Good morning! They’re doing really well! Wet food is now being eaten woohoo! The explorations are still only happening at night but a couple nights ago when they thought we were asleep they both came and laid down on the floor next to our bed which I thought was cute! I bought a camera so I can spy on them at night 😂 still under the bed during the day and won’t let me touch them but definitely progress!"

Some updates from Toby & Ginger's new family! They have been there for just over a week and already are making use of the local servants to take care of all their snuggling needs ♥️

Message on 8th August: "We wanted to let you know that both Toby and Ginger came outside their little safe box for pats. Toby has since requested and received lots more pats from both of us. They're both settling in quite well. Still in the spare room until they feel ready to explore more. We opened the curtains and blinds in their room so they could look outside and grab some afternoon sun. They're lovely 😊"

Message on 9th August: "Toby feeling very confident already. Ginger is slowly getting there, she's doing so well. They both enjoyed a bit of cat milk today. We bought them a large fluffy cat bed for when they're ready to step out of their little brown box😊"

We've also been told about two BIG milestones in their lives! Ginger is seeking out pats instead of simply accepting them when Toby is around - which lead to Toby's milestone, which was smacking Ginger when she came to ask for pats and there was only one human available! 😂

Tomorrow morning, Mumma and l are going on a big adventure! 👀

Yes, that's right, she's found her forever home!!

Mumma will be making her way down to Canberra to officially adopt her new family, and boy has she hit the jackpot.

All week we have been receiving text updates as they prepare for her arrival: Costco shopping hauls, an abundance of treats, lots of blankies, and her favourite thing - BOXES! So so many boxes!

Bye bye pretty Mumma, and may your life be grand 😍

Our Floof Wizard has come back to us.

Sometimes adoptions just don't work out - and that's okay! After a very dramatic Friday afternoon car ride up from Canberra, Harry is back snuggling with his best girl Maggie and annoying his sisters.

After some time to decompress and reassess his adoption requirements, Harry will be seeking his forever home again soon - likely with his sister Serena ♥️

Maggie's eyes are curious and her smile a little cheeky. Her favourite hobby is napping and her favourite treats are Temptations (mixed ONLY!) and straight tuna from the can. Once she gets to know you, she will follow you with her curious gaze as you move about, and only sometimes will she judge your life choices (you texted him again, didn't you?).

DeeDee's eyes? A little less curious, and way more judgemental. Have you ever wanted to feel like you walked in on a conversation that was all about you? DeeDee is your girl. Wondered what it would be like to fall asleep knowing the apex predator three feet to your left is plotting your murder? Yep, DeeDee again! Though her gaze is certainly fierce, she hasn't yet found the bravery to match - but she's trying! Sure, DeeDee may look as though she wishes you would take a long walk off a very short pier, but she loves Temptations treats just as much as Maggie does and can be very easily bribed.

Meet Mumma, the sweet grandma who has been waiting a lifetime to find her purrever family.

Mumma is an 8 year old muted torti and the most gentle senior girl you ever did meet. Her sweet disposition and patient paws will lure you in until you are trapped in her cuddles for all eternity - oh no, what a problem to have!

So then why is Mumma still around? INSANE, RIGHT? Here are the facts:
