Busy Beaks is a small home-based business creating a small range of unique and enriching toys for birds and other small pets. Everything here is lovingly handmade using only safe, natural materials - no wire, cotton, or dangerous plastics. Each toy is thoughtfully designed with small animal safety in mind, ensuring endless shredding, chewing, and foraging fun for your feathery or furry pals. A destroyed toy is an enjoyed toy - because playtime should be both enriching and safe! Support a rescue with your purchase! You can help enrich the lives of rescue birds by placing an order on behalf of one of the registered Victorian sanctuaries listed on our site. All sanctuary orders include FREE domestic shipping, simply add some goodies to your cart, select your chosen rescue at checkout and leave a customised note for me to add into the order, and I’ll take care of the rest! ♥

📣 Busy Beaks is taking a break!

Hi everybirdie 💚

Due to some busy life commitments, I’ll be taking a much-needed break from making toys for now. I’m not sure when I’ll be reopening just yet, but I’ll keep you all updated when the time comes. For now, I’ll be focusing on life, my family, and my new job.

Thank you all so much for your orders, ongoing support, and most of all your patience while waiting for parcels to arrive. It truly means the world to me! Hopefully things settle down soon and I’ll be back in the workshop again before too long 😊

✨🦜 New Toys! 🦜✨

I’ve been a busy bee lately! Between packing orders and juggling a new second job, I’ve managed to still squeeze in some time to design a couple of new exciting toys for your feathered friends 😊

🎉 Cork Bonanza - A very chonky shredding toy made with thick natural barky cork chunks, bottle corks, rolled up seagrass rounds, colourful paper pans and twirly raffia strands.

🪵 Balsa Kabob - A natural shredding toy made from Balsa wood, with pre-drilled holes to wedge in some natural browse, millet sprigs, or threaded through leather or paper cords for fun toy-making (or enjoyed as is!).

These are suitable for both small to medium-sized birds, as well as rats, mats, and sugar gliders 🐭🐹

Just landed in the shop today, so be sure to grab yours before they're snapped up! Don't forget to tag me if you share a snap of your feathered friend enjoying their new toys - I always love to see my happy feathered customers 💚

Another rescue now added to our donation list is Lazzi's Legacy Bird Rescue & Sanctuary!

Lazzi's Legacy is a registered charity in South-East Victoria, focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming budgerigars - founded in loving memory of Lasagna the budgie 🩵

You can place an order of fun toys (FREE postage) to be sent directly to this wonderful rescue (as well as other sanctuaries listed on our site), to help enrich lives of the little birds in care.
Because every birdie deserves to play & be happy!

I am excited to announce that I will now be offering a very special way for my customers to help and support birds in need. You can now place an order of goodies directly to one of our Victorian registered bird sanctuaries, with no postage cost!

Donated toys go straight to the beaks that need them most, bringing comfort, stimulation, and joy to the birds in care 💚
Enrichment is more than fun - it’s essential for the wellbeing of rescued birds.

You can view the sanctuaries through my website to find out more information about each one, then simply select the "Donate/Ship to Sanctuary" delivery option, and note down your chosen rescue in the provided notes during checkout. And I'll take care of the rest!

Please note : This shipping option is strictly for donations, and all donation orders get sent directly to the rescue organisation, not your personal address.
If you’re ordering toys for both your own birds as well as for a sanctuary, you will need to place two separate orders.
The free shipping only applies to donation orders, and a usual shipping fee will still apply for orders sent to your own address - they are not combined. You can read more about this in the FAQ.

Let’s help spread some joy - one toy at a time 🌈
Every donation big or small, makes a huge difference to our wonderful sanctuaries.
