🌈🧑 In Loving Memory of Bane 🧑🌈

Beautiful, strong and full of love. Bane was an American Staffy in every wonderful way; all personality, all strength, and all love.

He moved through life with a warmth and a solidity that his family could always lean into. Through the good times and the hard times, the exciting and the mundane, the highs and the lows, Bane was there. Solid, strong and present. A rock to hold onto when it mattered most.

He loved with his whole being and gave everything he had to the people who were his world. That kind of love leaves a mark that does not fade.

So deeply cherished and so dearly missed. 🀍

Run free, beautiful Bane.

πŸŒˆπŸ’œ The final blog in our pet quality of life series is here.πŸ’œπŸŒˆ

Over the past few days we have explored what quality of life really means, how to assess it, and what it feels like to navigate this from the inside.
Today we bring it all together.

Part 4 is about making the decision with love and clarity.
What the signs look like when the time is approaching.
The difference between natural death and euthanasia.
And how to find your way through one of the most profound decisions you may ever face.

There is no perfect moment.
There is no complete certainty.
There is only love, presence, and the quiet courage to put your pet's comfort above your own grief.

πŸ’œ Part 4: Making the Decision with Love and Clarity

And if you are walking this road right now, please know we are here.

πŸŒˆπŸ’™ Day 3 of our pet quality of life series.πŸ’™πŸŒˆ

This one is different.
It is less about information and more about the deeply felt experience of navigating this time.

When you love someone as much as most people love their pets, it becomes almost impossible to see them clearly. You are too close, too hopeful and too heartbroken.

The good days give you hope and then the bad days take it away.
The stoic pet keeps showing up for you and hides their suffering.
The self doubt is relentless.

Part 3 is for anyone sitting in that tender and confusing space right now.

Please share this with anyone who needs it. 🧑

πŸŒˆπŸ’š Day 2 of our pet quality of life series is here. πŸ’šπŸŒˆ

Yesterday we explored what quality of life really means for our beloved pets. Today we go deeper.

Part 2 is all about how to actually assess your pet's quality of life. We walk through the HHHHHMM Scale, what it does well and where it falls short, and the signs that no chart can ever fully measure.

Because here is the thing, a pet can score reasonably well on a quality of life scale and still be suffering. That nuance matters enormously, and it is something we explore honestly in this blog.

Save this one and share it with anyone who might need it. 🧑

🌈🧑 We have been working on something really important and we are so glad it is finally ready to share.

Over the next four days we are sharing a brand new blog series on pet quality of life.

Four blogs, each building on the last, designed to help you navigate one of the most profound and tender chapters of loving a pet.

Because quality of life is not a checklist, or a number on a scale. It is far more complex and nuanced than that and it deserves to be explored with the honesty and care it requires.

We will be sharing one blog per day over the next four days. You can read them in order or come back to individual ones as you need them. All four will be linked together so you can move through the series at your own pace.

🌈❀️ In Loving Memory of Echo ❀️🌈

Intelligent, intuitive and completely devoted, Echo was the heart of her family.

A kelpie through and through, she was always watching, always present, always one step ahead. She looked after her people with everything she had and loved them in that deep, unwavering way that filled every corner of their lives.

Echo was there from the very beginning. She was at Lauren and Bryce's wedding. She was there for the big moments and the quiet ones, the highs and the lows, the exciting and the ordinary. The first born, the constant, the one who was simply always there.

She grew up alongside Brody and Isabella, a devoted big sister in every sense. And to Lauren and Bryce she was irreplaceable, a part of every chapter of their lives together.

Almost thirteen beautiful years. And every single one of them was better with Echo in it.

So dearly loved and so deeply missed by her whole family. 🀍

Run free, beautiful Echo.

🩷 In Loving Memory of Dottie 🩷🌈

Tiny, gentle and shy, with a heart so big it could fill any room she walked into.

Dottie was a rescue who found her way home. Shy and afraid, she had not gone to a single person who came to meet the rescue chihuahuas. Until Mel walked in. In that quiet moment, Dottie walked straight over, sat down beside her, and chose her. She had found her person.

And from that moment, they were everything to each other.

Mel was Dottie's safe place, her forever home, her whole world. And Dottie was Mel's heart, her soul, her velcro dog, her everything.

Such a beautiful, gentle little soul. So deeply loved and so dearly missed.

Rest softly, precious Dottie. 🀍

Have you ever talked to someone older and wiser about death and found yourself surprised by how peaceful they are about it? πŸ’›

Many of our elders carry a quiet acceptance and a deep compassion about the end of life that we can all learn from. And when it comes to our beloved pets, their wisdom can guide us through some of the hardest decisions we will ever face.

We have written a gentle and reflective blog on what our elders can teach us about compassionate pet euthanasia, letting go with love, and honouring the dignity of the animals who mean everything to us.

It is a quiet and thoughtful read and we hope it brings some comfort to anyone navigating this time right now.

πŸŒˆπŸ’œ In Loving Memory of Cindy πŸ’œπŸŒˆ

Shy and beautiful, Cindy had a voice and she was not afraid to use it, filling her home with her meows and making sure everyone knew she was there.

This beautiful calico kitty spent her first three weeks tucked away in the bedroom cupboard, taking her time, watching the world from a safe distance. But slowly, gently, she found her feet and when she did, she stepped into her life with all the elegance and grace of the queen she was always meant to be.

She loved Tara and Adam with her whole heart. And of all the places in the world she could have chosen, she chose Adam's lap. That was her spot, her sanctuary, her favourite place to be.

Cindy moved through the world on her own terms, and she was so deeply loved every step of the way.

So cherished, so missed, so perfectly and completely herself.

Rest softly, beautiful Cindy. 🀍
