🦔 Echidnas are specialized insectivores that primarily eat ants, termites, and other soil invertebrates. This makes supplementing their diet when in care almost impossible (like any insectivore).

Therefore, rescuers and rehabilitators rely heavily on expert dietary supplements to keep them fit, healthy and arm them with the nutrients and development they need to return to the wild.

🎇 Fireworks this Saturday 🕖 7pm for Riverfire 🎇

Fireworks are scary for our animals. Here are some tips to keep them safe (especially important if you won’t be home):
⭐️ Give them hiding places & extra bedding so they have something to burrow in
⭐️ Make sure their tags/microchips are up to date in case they escape
⭐️ Walk your dog early
⭐️ Close windows & curtains
⭐️ Give them distractions: toys, playtime, treats, music/TV to mask the sound
⭐️ Keep them indoors: make sure they can’t escape the house/enclosure/yard/paddock
⭐️ Comfort them if it helps them relax but never punish them when they’re scared
⭐️ If they live outside, partially cover their enclosures with blankets to sound-proof one end but make sure they can still look out

A month to help raise awareness of the plight of our precious koalas.

There are various ways for each and everyone to help save koalas from going EXTINCT

Let's share some ideas and spread the word.

We'll start:

🐨 If you live in an area that also koalas call their home, stand up to protect their habitat, sign and share petitions, write to your local MP

🐨 Whereever on this planet you are, you could organise a Jelly Bean Jar Count Fundraiser at your work place, gym, book or craft club - for your favourite koala rescuer or let us help you turn your raised $$$ into specialised formula for orphaned koalas (simply comment below and we'll be in touch with a koality poster)
