Got a few interesting trail cam shots this week and I’d love your thoughts.
Do you reckon these are Wild Dogs or Dingoes?
As most people know, visually it’s extremely difficult to confidently distinguish between a pure dingo, a wild dog, or a hybrid just from photos.
Coat colour, body shape and markings can give hints but they’re not definitive.

Without a DNA sample, you can’t really say with certainty what they are.

In Queensland especially, the term “wild dog” generally refers to dingoes, feral domestic dogs, and hybrids and from a management perspective, they’re all treated the same under legislation.

🌿 Casual Field Staff Wanted – CGB Environmental Management 🌿

We’re looking for reliable and motivated people to join our team at CGB Environmental Management on a casual basis.

📍 Work Location Gympie Council areas
(Some off-grid camping required at times)

🔧 Duties Include:

Invasive plant and animal management

Fencing and general property maintenance

Assisting with field operations and site setups

✅ What We’re Looking For:

Reliable and physically fit individuals

Comfortable working outdoors in remote areas

Able to work independently and as part of a small team

Experience in pest or vegetation management, rural work, or fencing is an advantage but not essential

🚙 Additional Info:

Casual work with flexible hours

All training and equipment provided

Great opportunity to work outdoors and be part of meaningful environmental projects

With calving season just around the corner, we’re taking a proactive approach to protect livestock. This trip, we’re scouting for fresh wild dog sign and setting up trail cameras to see what’s moving through before we start trapping.

The goal? Stop the dogs before they stop the calves.
