A few weeks ago we visited the HARS Aviation Museum in the Illawarra, south of Sydney. I'd heard it was dog-friendly, so we took along Schnitzel, taking his pram so I had my hands free to take photos.

Dogs need to be well-behaved, because it's an active hangar, with a no-touching policy. Also, one of the highlights is entering some of the aircraft, but dogs aren't allowed inside. Luckily we had the pram and knew Schnitzel could be left in it, otherwise one of use would have had to skip entering the aircraft.

It's an excellent museum, but carefully consider whether you should visit with a dog.

Cupitt’s Estate is a delightfully dog-friendly winery situated near Ulladulla on the NSW South Coast. Schnitzel was welcome to join us on our tour around the winery, where we were able to taste the latest vintage still in the tanks, check out the recently cropped vines and visit the barrel room underneath the restaurant. We then tasted a selection of their wines (the Pointer Pinot Noir was my favourite), before enjoying a leisurely lunch in the Wine Garden, including the Duck Ragu from the specials board and a cheese plate.

If booking a wine tasting, make sure you let them know you’ll be bringing a dog - you’ll be seated at one of the outdoor tables with a heater just outside the petite cellar door. Alternatively, you can add on a wine flight to your lunch in the Wine Garden, where dogs are welcome to join you, with water bowls provided and plenty of room to relax.

No matter what time of the year, Bannisters Pavilion in Mollymook is perfect for a South Coast getaway with your pup. Just a 5 minute walk from the on-leash section of Mollymook Beach (and a short drive from multiple off-leash beaches), three of their Classic Rooms are pet-friendly. Our ground floor room came with a pair of bowls for Schnitzel plus a small private courtyard for early morning toilet breaks. Upstairs there are a handful of pet-friendly tables at the Rooftop Bar & Grill, the perfect spot for cocktails and dinner, adjacent to the rooftop pool. It’s also the location of their delicious morning breakfast. Note that there is a pet size limit of 25kg.

Our Pampered Pets Staycation at The Langham, Sydney 🐶💕

We enjoyed an overnight stay at this luxurious hotel tucked away on the edge of the Sydney CBD. Our Junior Suite was elegant and wonderfully spacious, with harbour views overlooking Barangaroo.

Schnitzel loved the welcome treats left out for him in the room, plus the gift bag with collar, leash, balls and more. And the stay was capped off with a delicious in-room breakfast, before the leisurely check-out time of 11am.
