Is your dog walking you? 😂🐕

Loose-lead walking is a skill, not something dogs automatically know.

Reward the good stuff, practise in easier environments first, and gradually build up the distractions.

Because walks should be enjoyable for both ends of the lead! 🐾

With the Commonwealth Games in full swing, we can’t help but imagine what Team Dog Australia would look like 🥇

Some would be setting world records for post-bath zoomies. Others would be bringing home medals for dramatic rolling, precision treat catching or artistic tail wagging. And let’s be honest, there’d probably be a few disqualifications for stopping mid-event because they found something interesting to sniff 😅

🎓🐾 CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR GRADUATION DOUGIE! 🐾🎓

What an incredible journey it’s been! 😁

When we first met Dougie, being left alone was something he found really difficult. While it’s still not his favourite thing in the world (let’s be honest, he’d much rather be with his favourite humans!), he’s made so much progress in learning that a little independence isn’t so scary after all.

The biggest round of appaws has to go to his amazing owner who put in all the hard work! Alone time training isn’t always a straight line. There are wins, there are setbacks, and sometimes there are a few “ruff” days in between. But by staying consistent, celebrating every little victory and trusting the process, you’ve helped Dougie build confidence that will continue to grow long after graduation 🙏

We’ll miss watching your confidence blossom each week... and we’ll definitely miss our weekly Dougie cuddles! 🐕

Be incredibly proud of how far you’ve both come. Remember, progress isn’t measured by perfection. It’s measured by all the little moments that add up to something truly special.

Congratulations on your graduation, Dougie! We can’t wait to see where your next adventure takes you! 🩵💛

Dogs can actually smell time.

As a scent gets older, it changes and fades. Your dog’s incredible nose can detect those changes, helping them work out whether another dog passed by five minutes ago or much earlier.

Pretty impressive for someone who occasionally tries to eat socks. 😂

It’s just one of the reasons scent work is such an incredible way to engage your dog’s brain.

If enthusiasm was a competition, Rua would’ve graduated week 1! 😂

Rua is one seriously clever boy with enough energy to keep everyone on their toes. Every week he arrived ready to work, ready to learn, and always keen to see what challenge was next

Of course, none of this happens without amazing owners. Rua’s family have been so dedicated throughout his training, and the results really speak for themselves 🩵💛

We’ll certainly miss seeing you all each week. Congratulations again, Rua. We can’t wait to hear what you get up to next!
