🚨 Parvovirus Precaution Notice 🚨

We are currently seeing an increased number of parvovirus (parvo) cases in our community. This includes not only puppies, but also older unvaccinated dogs.

If your pet is showing any of the following symptoms:
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea (especially bloody)
• Lethargy or weakness
• Loss of appetite
• Fever

It is very important that you list all symptoms that your dog is experiencing when calling for an appointment so we can best direct the situation.

👉 Please remain in your car upon arrival and call the clinic to let us know you’re here.

Phone number: 7231 3000

This is a precaution to help protect other patients. Parvovirus is highly contagious and can easily spread through contaminated surfaces.

We kindly ask for your understanding — please don’t be offended if you are asked to wait outside. This is clinic policy to prevent contamination of our waiting room and consult rooms, and to keep all pets as safe as possible.

Thank you for helping us protect our patients 💙

Parvo is not “just a tummy bug.” It’s fast, brutal, and often fatal.

When a dog contracts parvovirus, it attacks the body at its core:
* Destroys the lining of the intestines
* Causes severe vomiting and bloody diarrhoea
* Leaves them unable to absorb nutrients or fluids
* Crashes the immune system, opening the door to life-threatening infections

Within days, a happy, bouncy puppy can become dangerously dehydrated, weak, and fighting for its life.

Treatment isn’t simple. It means intensive hospital care, IV fluids, constant monitoring, and even then… not every dog makes it.

And the hardest part?
Parvo is preventable.

Vaccination protects.
Early protection saves lives.

Please don’t take the risk. If your puppy isn’t fully vaccinated, keep them away from public areas and unknown dogs. There has been an increase in cases from the northern suburbs just in the past week.

We’ve seen what parvo does.
It’s something no pet owner ever forgets and neither do we.
