Saffy had her 3 puppies last weekend.

I haven’t taken many photos yet and honestly… this one isn’t my favourite either. But that’s just how it goes sometimes — expectations vs reality don’t always align especially when photographing living things. I don’t see the benefits of persisting when the conditions aren’t right.

This was taken while Saffron popped outside for a quick toilet break so I had a very small window to work with. The puppies don’t exactly stay put for the “perfect” photo — even with their eyes still closed, they seem to sense the light and start wriggling, circling, and piling into each other instead. Getting that ideal shot just isn’t always possible… and that’s okay. Here we photograph real life without AI.

Right now, my focus is on Saffy feeling calm, comfortable, settled and on the puppies being warm, well-fed and thriving. The photos can absolutely wait. Keeping things low-stress for mum, pups, and me matters. It makes for better dogs in the long run.

They are absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to share more when the time is right — but for now, we’re just enjoying this time while Saffy settles into life with her new babies.

We have had a house full of visiting doggos this week as Reggie, Oreo and Stormy visit for mating. Reggie will be a first time parent in our program and genetically brings a stunning shaggy coat meaning puppy coats will be shaggy and fleece - no curly wool. He is also a chocolate carrier so is a great option for our two girls who are red carriers, chocolate/chocolate carriers. He is also a snuggly bunny and super smart and his guardian family have taught him some cool tricks to get his food (and he loves food unlike a lot of Cavoodles!)
Reggie is around 8kg . Exciting times ahead as we prepare for our Christmas litters!

Not long now until Saffy and Vinnie have their litter. This is a last litter for Saff, her Guardian Jess sent these beautiful photos with her belly peeking out from under her jacket! Let the countdown begin!

Running a breeding program means wearing a lot of different hats. One minute I’m a marketer, photographer and social media manager, the next I’m a midwife, cleaner, nutritionist, record keeper, vet nurse and sleep-deprived puppy cuddler.

I actually love sharing updates here and looking back at past Glenroy Cavoodles puppies. But every single time a litter arrives, I disappear into my own little baby bubble. My phone ends up full of weight charts, feeding records and videos I’ve taken for families, but somehow I forget to take photos for everyone else.

So if things go a little quiet, it isn’t because nothing is happening. Quite the opposite. It usually means there are tiny puppies to monitor around the clock, mums to care for and lots of little milestones happening behind the scenes.

I’ll be back to posting properly soon. Until then, I’m exactly where I want to be… in the puppy bubble.

Our darling little puppies are 11 days old, eyes still closed and living their best lives eating, sleeping and staying warm next to their mumma Maizie.
Maizie’s guardians have chosen a Suessical theme for her puppies as her name is also Suess inspired!

Oreo heads the wake up committee in her household and safe to say she takes her responsibility seriously 🤣. Oreo is a future mum of one of our coming merle litters and was bred here at Glenroy Cavoodles.
