Darko’s Health Update🚨 We haven’t shared this yet as we were taking time to process and learn more about his condition before we publicly shared the news.
Darko tested positive for 2 tick born blood infections. We ran multiple tests, first in Al ain via and later in Dubai via SaBB Dubai] as we found something off with his kidney functions.
Darko is diagnosed with stage 2 CKD (chronic kidney disease).
The most challenging part of this journey is knowing that this isn’t reversible or treatable, only manageable. One of the hardest decisions we’ve had to make is to go back to renal prescription kibble. After cooking for him and being so passionate about taking a holistic approach, we are stepping back in one area for a while and taking this time to research and lean more on how to move ahead, as feeding him what I did, is only causing more pressure on his kidneys. Being allergic to chicken and beef doesn’t help and there’s too much contradictory information on google, and hard to say if the source is trust worthy.
Our vet Dr.Furkan .pet.care.clinic.dxb had picked up on this last year, he was super helpful in helping me maintain our holistic approach, despite my best efforts, his condition seems to have worsened. We will still continue with our supplements from and hold on to those tight!
We’re trying our renal prescription diet for the next 4 months and will do a full panel bloodwork again to see for any improvements, Dr.Alberto from SaBB Dubai] has been so helpful, He also shared a website that helps me cook for Darko, but I just don’t feel confident enough to risk his health.
